Out of the Vox- I want milk!

Time flies and my little Danien is already into his 19th month. He has already started walking somewhere in his 15th month and has started talking. I guess the speech was around 8th-9th month when he started calling for “daddy” and “mummy”.

Recently, he started to talk in short sentences like ” I want milk, I want blanket” in the early morning. I was excited and proud that he could talk in sentences.

He could also tell me whether it was a sunny day or rainy day. Best part is, he could remember numbers from 1-10 in English, Chinese and Malay. My helper doted him like her son that she always teach him new things. It is no wonder he treat her like a mom. So Guilty! Hope to converse with him more.

Oops forgot to add that… his first sentence was “I don’t want” when he was in his 10th month.

Out of the Vox: Don’t sell my Barbies

Yesterday, hubby and I brought Avel to the shopping mall to get some IT equipment for our home. Hubby wanted to do up our IT storage so it’s like a mini “cloud storage” at home, furthermore, he wanted to better up our wireless frequency as we keep facing wireless loss while surfing the net.

As we all know, IT gadgets are something which will lose its value over time as new gadgets are out. Lately, hubby and I sold away all our Apple products and used those cash to upgrade to better things. While I was paying for the items, Avel brought Hubby out of the shop and talked to him.

Hubby came to me and told me that Avel also know how to trade for toys. I was surprised. This was how the conversation went.

Avel: “Daddy, I want to sell my toys away so that I can get new toys”. (soft voice)

Hubby: “Huh what?”

Avel: “I want to sell my toys but don’t sell my barbie dolls away, please.I want to buy new toys.” (normal voice)

This is the way she views “trade in”.

Out of the Vox: Don’t want

My youngest boy, Danien has started walking at 15months which was a month ago. It was a long wait for me as the older siblings started walking at 13months. However, Danien started his baby talk quite early. As early as 10months, he was able to say “car car”, “bear bear”. Oh, yes, that was also the first words he started saying.
He understood what was being told to him like simple instructions, “Where is the gun? Can you go and find it?” He would immediately search for it. It was fun actually “playing with instructions”.

Lately, he has learned more words. He knows how to call “Mama, Papa, Dad, no, don’t want”.
Just the other day, hubby told me that Danien walked into the bedroom with a gun and said “Hi Dad!”

For me, whenever I asked for “baobao- (hug hug)”, if he’s happy, he will come and let you carry. If not, he would say “No, don’t want”. Well, his facial expression accompanied with it was also cute which melts my heart at times. Though he is the youngest, he is also the one who is quite insistent and not sharing with his siblings. I have to reinforce to him the toys must be shared. The coming months will be more and more interesting too, to observe how the children interact with one another. At the current stage, both Avel and Danson plays with Danien a lot. However, when little tiff starts, it is always over Danien and either Danson or Avel will take Danien’s side. This is interesting….

Out of the Vox: Ah boys o men

Apparently, the Ah Boys to Men fever is still hot in our humble bode.
Danson is still excited and happy whenever he heard “Recruits Anthem”, so is Avel.
They will sing something like that…”ah boys to men, serving 2 years, for our nation, our country…..blah blah”
But it keeps them entertained!

Danson is always excited whenever he sees someone in army uniform on the street and he goes….
“ah boys o men…..”
*Laughter*

Hubby always have to correct him.
“Danson, it’s not ah boys old men! Those are young boys, not old men….”
But there are times where the reservist guys are out there flagging for taxis and on hearing Danson shouting “Ah boys old men”, Hubby will nod his head, yeah…it’s ah boys old men.

*scratches head* sometimes, I cannot stand these 2 gentlemen.

Out of the Vox: Marry me?

Just last week, in the car, Avel was happily telling us that she would like to marry Danson. Hubby and I were not really surprised since Avel has been telling us who she want to get married to in future. But not, when the partner is her brother. We explained to her that it was out of the question as they were both siblings.

While Avel was asking us the reason, Danson who was sitting on my lap began to look sad.

Danson: “Mummy, you don’t like me?”

Me: “Mummy loves you, you are a good boy.

Danson: “No….you don’t want to marry me….”

Me: *speechless*
